Kathmandu. Tesla, the world’s richest person and electric car maker, has been waiting for a long time in India. Recently, there has been a lot of talk of Tesla entering India.
Tesla was preparing to launch its cars in India in a phased manner. However, Tesla has already suffered a major setback.
According to a Bloomberg report, Tesla’s India chief Prashant Menon has resigned. This comes at a time when Tesla is planning to enter India.
Its dealerships are being finalized in Delhi and Mumbai. “Menon has resigned as India chief due to personal reasons,” the report quoted people familiar with the matter as saying. However, Tesla has not yet made any official announcement in this regard.
Menon has been working with Tesla for the last nine years and has served as the board chairman of Tesla India for more than four years. Menon also started the company’s India office in Pune in 2021. After Venkatrangam Sriram, Menon took over the command of Tesla India.
Prior to heading Tesla India, Menon has also served as a director advisor on costs, procedures and regulatory measures for Tesla in the US.
After Menon’s resignation, there is a lot of discussion about who will take over the post. However, the company has not yet made any announcement in this regard. – Agency
