Home Minister holds virtual meeting with CDO of Tarai-Madhes and chiefs of local levels

Kathmandu. Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has directed to coordinate with the Chief District Officers of Tarai-Madhes, including Madhes Province, declared disaster-prone areas, to identify places for installing deep boring and tubewells.

Minister Lekhak interacted with the chiefs, chairmen and chief district officers of the local levels at a coordination meeting organized virtually by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority on Saturday regarding the operation of relief programs after declaring the crisis zone.

In the meeting, he directed the Chief District Officers to coordinate and facilitate the identification of places where drinking water and irrigation problems as well as deep tube wells and deep borings will be installed on priority basis.

Minister Lekhak has said that the distribution of water from tankers should be continued in places where there is no source of water or dried up, and for this, the tankers of the private sector including security agencies should also be used.
