Health Insurance Board recommends names of 3 people for executive directive

Kathmandu. The names of three people have been recommended to the government for appointment to the vacant post of Executive Director in the Health Insurance Board.

Dr. Damodar Basaula’s term as Executive Director ended on November 25. After three months of the position of Executive Director being vacant, the recommendation committee formed by the Ministry of Health and Population issued a notice on January 24 and called for applications. The last date for submitting applications was February 4.

According to a Health Ministry source, the committee has recommended the names of Kamal Panthi of Ghorahi-15 in Dang, Dr. Krishna Prasad Adhikari of Kathmandu-4 in Kathmandu, and Dr. Raghurajan Kafle of Byas-5 in Tanahun to the Council of Ministers for appointment as Executive Directors. The committee recommended the names of these three people to the Council of Ministers after the work plan presentation and interview at the Public Service Commission on Falgun 19.

The committee had called Panthi, Adhikari and Kafle, along with Gang Prasad Joshi, Dr Pramod Kumar Yadav, Ram Pratav Yadav, Ram Prasad Poudel, Shambhu Prasad Gyawali, Dr Sagar Kumar Rajbhandari and Homanath Neupane, for the work plan presentation and interview.

The committee is going to appoint the Executive Director of the Health Insurance Board through open competition. Now, the Council of Ministers will appoint one of the recommended people as the Executive Director.
