Guardian Micro Life: Profit surges as business grows significantly

Kathmandu. Guardian Micro Life Insurance has released the revised financial statements for the third quarter of the current fiscal year (July-April).

According to the financial statement, the company has earned a profit of Rs 27.4 million till the third quarter. The company had posted a profit of Rs 701,000 in the same period of the previous fiscal year. Compared to the previous fiscal year, the company’s profit increased by 3812.84 percent in the review period.

As of Mid-April of the current fiscal year, the company has rs 2.93 5 million in disaster fund, Rs 19 million in retained earnings and Rs 3.256 million in other equities. As of Mid-July last year, the disaster fund had rs 192,000, retained earnings Rs 573,000 and other equities Rs 3.248 million.

As of the review period, the company’s life insurance fund stood at Rs 125.9 million. The life insurance fund stood at Rs 11.4 million in the same period last year. The size of the company’s life insurance fund increased by 1001.47 percent in the review period compared to the previous year.

Till the third quarter, the company has earned a total insurance premium of Rs 206.7 million. In the same period of the previous fiscal year, the company had earned a total insurance premium of Rs 20.4 million. Compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year, the company’s total insurance revenue has increased by 909.71 percent.

The company has earned Rs 194.8 million in net insurance premium till the review period. In the same period of the previous fiscal year, the company had earned a net insurance premium of Rs 17.8 million. Compared to the previous year, the company’s net insurance revenue has increased by 990.44 percent.

The company’s annualised earnings per share (EPS) rose to Rs 4.88 from Rs 750 million at the end of the second quarter. Last year, the EPS was Rs 0.18. The company has a net worth of Rs 102.93 per share with a PE ratio of 507.91 times.
