Despite this situation, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a statement saying that the protesters themselves should be responsible for all these incidents, which clearly shows the helplessness of the state. The government, which took the precautions that should have been taken in view of the predetermined program lightly, has lost a journalist’s life today and caused great material damage. Looting has broken out.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the ministry has drawn serious attention to the violent demonstration that took place in the Tinkune area of Kathmandu today during a demonstration organized by supporters of the former king, mocking the freedom of thought and expression and the freedom to assemble peacefully without weapons as guaranteed by the constitution. The general public can guess why the government did not make any preparations for this.

The inhuman and unbridled incidents of vandalism and arson against private property, hospitals, media houses, political party offices, commercial centers and other means of transport are illegal and highly condemnable. The organizers of the demonstration themselves are fully responsible for committing and causing such violent and criminal incidents. This shows that the government has a habit of being a mute spectator of the movement and condemning it after the incident.

The statement mentions that the constitution has paved the way for the highest utilization of democratic governance by protecting the rights of all classes, castes, languages, genders, regions and religions. ‘No one benefits from violent and apolitical activities instead of the democratic method of expressing ideas peacefully,’ the statement says. ‘Therefore, we sincerely appeal to the general public not to engage in such inhuman and illegal activities and request that the government is committed to bringing anyone who violates the law to justice and establishing the rule of law.’

To what extent will this commitment of the Ministry of Home Affairs be fulfilled? However, the government is responsible for the loss of life of a video journalist.
