Kathmandu. Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arju Rana Deuba has made it clear that he would cooperate with the newly elected Working Committee of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).
Speaking at a programme organised by the High-Level Committee constituted by the Supreme Court to congratulate the working committee led by Mahesh Kumar Shrestha, who was elected from the unity general convention, Minister Rana urged the left-out groups to unite through the same. “We will also cooperate if the working committee elected by the high-level committee should take initiative to include everyone,” she said.
Similarly, Minister Rana pledged that the ministry would also put aside the cases pending in the court in a procedural manner. Stating that NRN’s from all over the world are honorary ambassadors of Nepal, she also appealed to the government to cooperate with the government and support Nepal’s progress. Stating that it was the responsibility of the government to protect nepalis in distress not only in the Middle East, the Gulf but also in different parts of the world, she made it clear that the ministry would move ahead in collaboration with the NRNA in this regard.
On the occasion, Secretary at the Ministry Amrit Bahadur Rai congratulated the current working committee and said that the ministry was ready for collaboration. He also said that he was confident that the present working committee would take initiative for greater unity.
Secretary Rai said that the problems of different places would be resolved through mutual discussion. He also urged the government to give suggestions on the NRNA Act.
Newly elected President of the Association Mahesh Kumar Shrestha expressed his gratitude to Minister for Foreign Affairs Rana, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Nepal for their support in holding the unification session. He said that he would move ahead with the support and cooperation of the ministry in the coming days as well.
Shrestha said that his working committee will move forward only after thinking about everything rather than hurrying. He said there was a need for an advisory board to resolve disputes within the NRNA.
Chairman Shrestha also said that NRNA is always ready to be a partner in nepal’s development.
Former President of NARNA Bhawan Bhatta said that everyone will be successful only if they forget bitter things and move forward. He said the government could also benefit from the NRNA, which is the largest organization in the world.
NRNA activist RK Sharma thanked Minister Rana for the initiative of unification and said that they are ready to discuss any topic in the coming days. He also made a special call to address the problems of the Middle East.
Binod Kunwar, a member of the high-level committee, said that the unification session could be held with the support and cooperation of all. He said the newly elected working committee would work for greater unity and he was ready to help.
Janaki Gurung, member-secretary of the high-level committee, said that the unity general convention had unanimously elected the new working committee. She urged everyone to create an environment to get rid of the current crisis soon.
On the occasion, high-level committee member Kunwar and member secretary Gurung also handed over the report to Foreign Minister Rana.
