Kathmandu. The Government of India has sought an explanation from Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved in some suspicious transactions.

According to a Bloomberg report, India’s Ministry of Corporate Affairs has sent a notice to the company. “The Department of Economic Intelligence has found some of the company’s transactions unusual and suspicious. As the investigation is at an early stage, the amount of the transaction has not been disclosed yet,” the report quoted a source as saying, adding that the company has been given nearly two months to respond to the information. ’

The ministry will also investigate the company’s activities and use of money. The ministry did not immediately give any information about this.

A Patanjali Ayurved spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment. This is not the first time Patanjali Ayurveda has been questioned. Last year, the company was accused of not paying taxes and wrongly demanding refunds.

The court also restrained the company from advertising its products as a treatment for certain diseases.

Patanjali Ayurved is a private company. But one of its units, Patanjali Foods, is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange of India. Its share price has fallen nearly 10 percent this month.
