Export trade improves, EV worth Rs 20 billion imported in 9 months

Kathmandu. Current fiscal year 2081. During the first nine months of 1982, Nepal’s export trade has shown a promising improvement. According to the data published by the Department of Customs, the export trade by the end of the third quarter is 2080. It has increased by 66 percent compared to the same period of 1981.

Goods worth Rs 113 billion were exported in the same period of the last fiscal year, while in the first nine months of the current fiscal year, goods worth Rs 188 billion have been exported.

Along with exports, imports have also increased significantly. According to the Department of Customs, imports have increased by Rs 150 billion compared to the previous fiscal year. The total import value has reached Rs 1,309 billion as of mid-April, up from Rs 11.67 billion in the same period last fiscal year.

According to the Data of the Department of Customs, nepal’s total foreign trade has increased by 16.89 percent. Last year, the total trade was Rs 1,281 billion, which has now reached Rs 1,497 billion.

Petroleum-based products are at the top of nepal’s main imports. Imports of these products amounted to Rs 74.28 billion last year. Nepal exported tea and coffee products worth Rs 10.74 billion, wood products worth Rs 7.16 billion, iron and steel worth Rs 10 billion and carpets worth Rs 9.3 billion.

Meanwhile, Nepal has imported electric vehicles worth rs 20 billion in nine months. A total of 20,896 electric vehicles were imported during the period, contributing Rs 11.92 billion to the country’s customs revenue, according to customs data.
