Kathmandu. Keeping in mind the interest of the general public, the Ministry of Health and Population has brought a simple arrangement in health insurance.
The Ministry of Health and Population has approved the proposal to amend the Health Insurance Regulations in the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday. With this, the health insurance service is going to be easier for the general public.
Now the insured who has joined the health insurance will be able to avail the service within a month. Earlier, there was a provision to take the service only after three months.
Similarly, the amended regulations have abolished the obligation of insurers to reach the hospital near the prescribed time while providing health insurance or taking referral to other hospitals. Now the insured can take the service by establishing the first service point at the place where he is staying.
There has been a demand to remove these complicated arrangements. To address the same demand, the Ministry of Health had amended the regulations and sent it to the Council of Ministers for approval.
Now the trust of the general public in health insurance will increase and access will also be expanded.
