E-service of 4,000 people is Rs. Youth trapped for missing over Rs 1 crore

Kathmandu. Kathmandu: Nepal Police has arrested a youth who has lost more than Rs 10 million in the e-service of 4,000 people.

A team of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested Rahul Budha, 22, of Krishnapur Municipality-1 of Kanchanpur and currently residing in Anamnagar of Kathmandu from Kalimati. He managed to steal Rs 10.2 million from the e-services of 4,000 people.

Budha used to send phishing penis like The Alert, AT Alert to various people through SMM and warn them that the e-service account was going to be suspended. He would then open the link sent to SMM to keep the e-seva account active. Investigation has revealed that Budha used to steal money by accessing the e-service accounts of these people, said Superintendent of Police Angur GC. “It has come to light that Budha used to transfer the money stolen from the person’s e-service to the merchant accounts of Pashupati Global Innovation Pvt Ltd,” he said.

According to Superintendent of Police GC, budha has been sent to the District Police Complex at Bhadrakali in Kathmandu for necessary investigation and action.
