Kathmandu. Daughters have to stand on their own feet. There is nothing a woman can do if she goes out of the house with skills and knowledge in her hands. We need to look for opportunities to get rid of the problems faced by women in society. In a society that discriminates between men and women, Reena Basnet is a woman who believes that women can work like men without depending on anyone.

Born in Nepalgunj of Banke in 2038 B.S., Reena is currently working as an agency manager at Citizen Life’s Bhairahawa branch. Reena, who thinks that women should be self-reliant, has been working as an insurance agent by providing insurance education and connecting people to insurance. She is always engaged in making people’s lives risk-free by getting insurance. Reena says that she tries more to pay the insurance than to get insurance. “Everyone should get insurance, but I will try to explain it to everyone so that it is better to understand the insurance. Even if I don’t do it after submitting the insurance, I feel good because I think I have been able to teach you about insurance,” she says.

Rico had a happy childhood. Reena holds a Master’s degree in Political Science. She completed her Bachelor’s degree from Bhairahawa. She came to Kathmandu and completed her post-graduation at Tribhuvan University.

Both his parents were government employees. In a society that says that her daughter should not be educated too much, there was no shortage of education for Reena. There was an environment in the family to study. Growing up in an educated family, Rina also had the mentality that she should study and do something by studying.

Reena currently resides in Bhairahawa. Before entering the insurance sector, Reena was a travel and tour operator. She is not only a capable woman but also a capable housewife and mother. She is a woman who takes care of her family and children and carries equal responsibility at work.

Reena, who was running her own business, had lost her business due to Corona. However, the business continued. While looking for an alternative to doing something other than business, Reena knew Sir Sunil Pokhrel at the then Surya Life. He also asked Reena to get insurance. In the meantime, Reena started working in the insurance sector in 2069 BS with a license from the then Surya Life.

When she entered the insurance industry, Reena had no knowledge of insurance. “I went into the profession of an agent. But when I went to the company and trained, the insurance was much deeper than I thought. I got into insurance due to the inspiration of Sunil sir in Surya Life. But I couldn’t do well because I had a business together. ’

“Then in 2074 BS, Citizen Life was established and I got an opportunity to work there through Sunil sir. He made every effort to explain the new company and the new policy to the customer. After coming to Citizen Life, I came to know what real insurance is,” Reena said, “Even when I was in Surya Life, I did not understand it. After coming to Citizen Life, I got a chance to understand insurance in depth. With the inspiration of Sunil Pokhrel and Naresh Sikdel sir, I was able to do good work in the insurance market. They are my source of inspiration. ’

When she entered the insurance company, it was difficult for Reena to tell people to insure. “Later, the company gave me training, I started participating in all the trainings. I went to the market. I kept talking to people,” she said, “I got a chance to study society and I was able to do a good insurance business. ’

Reena says that she has also received a lot of support from her family to move forward in this profession. She said that her children also inspire her to continue in this profession. “My sons and daughters have also supported me,” she said, adding, “My husband, sons and daughters are happier than me when I achieve my goals and receive awards.” That is why I am very happy and satisfied in this profession. ’

According to Reena, the profession of insurance agent is much better than other professions. “Moreover, this profession is very good for women sisters,” Reena said, “I like this profession because it is a profession that can be done by doing household chores, family responsibilities, taking care of children, and saving someone’s life and earning income even when I have my own time.” ’

Reena, who loves to do social work, says that after joining the agent profession, she feels that her dreams have also come true. “I was very interested in doing social work. I also studied social field, but after marriage, I got married saying that I would get a job and do social service,” she said. However, as an insurance agent, I feel very proud to be able to earn an income along with social service. By coming into this profession, I was able to do the social service that I saw. While asking for insurance, I also gave time to protect the lives of others. Therefore, this profession is a profession for oneself along with social service. ’

Since entering this profession, I have not done anything to protect the lives of others. I also changed a lot. After joining this profession, I knew how to walk and speak,” Reena experienced. I had the opportunity to meet and get to know people from all walks of life. Afraid to speak at a small Mass, this profession has given me the ability to speak confidently. ’

“The insurance agent profession is a profession of trust,” says Rina, who has proved herself to be true to the crowd of brokers. The insurance market is a profession that sells trust. In this profession, the agent should work honestly. Insurance policies should be sold based on the customer’s income. The customer should not be forced. Only then will the insurance market be sustainable. ’

According to Reena, to be a successful agent, one has to be honest, diligent, trustworthy, and hardworking. The company gives first priority to agents. Training is provided from time to time. This has increased the knowledge of the agent. I am very grateful to the company for this. ’

Reena has also pledged to pursue the profession as an agent as long as she is alive. Reena has met every target given by the company. She has been an MDRT 2 times. Apart from this, she has also received awards like Gold Club, Platinum and Hero of the Month.
