Kathmandu. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), which has pointed out the risk of heavy rainfall in Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, has advised not to travel except for urgent purposes.
Stating that there is a possibility of flooding in the rivulets due to heavy and very heavy rainfall in all the three provinces, the NRA has advised not to go out for travel except for emergency from Saturday to Monday.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in Banke, Bardiya and Dang districts of Lumbini, Surkhet, Dailekh and Salyan districts of Karnali, Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Doti, Achham, Kailali and Kanchanpur districts of the far-western region.
According to the NRA, the general public has been urged to take adequate precautions to avoid the risk of floods and landslides as there is a possibility of rain in all the three provinces for three consecutive days from Saturday.
Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, 24 disasters including floods, landslides, incessant rain, lightning, fire and lakes have occurred in different districts of the country. Two people were killed and eight others were injured in these incidents.
