Corruption case filed against former PRIME Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal

Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against former Prime Minister and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (CIAA) on Thursday filed a corruption case against Chairman Nepal at the Special Court in connection with the sale and purchase of land in the name of Patanjali YogPeeth and Ayurvedic Company in Kavre. Nepal’s parliament has been automatically suspended after a case was filed in the court.

The CIAA has demanded Rs 185.85 million from Chairman Nepal. In the same case, the CIAA has filed a case against 93 people, including chairman Nepal, former law minister Prem Bahadur Singh, then land reforms secretary Chhabi Raj Panta.

When Nepal was the Prime Minister in 2066 BS, the Cabinet had approved the purchase of the land. Later, a complaint was lodged with the CIAA alleging that the land was sold in violation of the law beyond the limit.
