Kathmandu. Commercial banks have spent rs 48.42 billion more on salaries and allowances of employees in the 10 months of the current fiscal year.
According to nepal rastra bank data, 20 commercial banks have spent Rs 48.42 billion on salaries and allowances of their employees till Mid-April. In the same period last year, the banks had spent Rs 45.54 billion. Compared to the previous year, the amount spent by the banks on the salary and allowances of the employees has increased by 6.33 percent.
Rastriya Banijya Bank is the largest spender on salaries and allowances of employees while NMB Bank is ahead in terms of growth rate. Compared to the previous year, the cost of going to the salaries and allowances of employees of 15 commercial banks has increased and five have decreased.
Rastriya Banijya Bank has spent Rs 3.52 billion on salaries and allowances of its employees in the 10 months of the current fiscal year. In the same period last year, the expenditure of this head was Rs 3.61 billion. Expenditure has decreased by 2.36 percent compared to the previous year.
Similarly, Kumari is the second bank to spend on the salary and allowances of the employees. Kumari has spent Rs 3.37 billion till April of the current fiscal year. In the same period last year, such expenditure was Rs 3.42 billion. Kumari Bank’s expenditure has also decreased by 1.4 percent.
Global IME Bank is in third place. The bank has spent Rs 3.15 billion in salary and allowances of its employees till April last year. The bank’s expenditure increased by 3.8 percent in the review period compared to the previous year.
Similarly, Laxmi Sunrise Bank has spent Rs 3.19 billion, Prabhu Bank Rs 3.12 billion, Nepal Bank Rs 3.11 billion, Nabil Bank Rs 3.10 billion and Krishi Bikas Bank Rs 3.82 billion. Laxmi Sunrise Bank, Nepal Bank and Krishi Bikas Bank have increased their expenditure in the review period compared to the previous year.
Similarly, NIC Asia Bank, Himalayan Bank, Nepal Investment Mega Bank, NMB Bank, Siddhartha Bank, Machhapuchchhre Bank, Nepal Investment Mega Bank, Nepal Investment Mega Bank, Siddhartha Bank, Andchhapuchchhre Bank, Among others, have been paid Rs 2.81 billion, Rs 2.81 billion, Rs 2.75 billion, Rs 2.75 billion respectively. Everest Bank spent Rs 1.50 billion, Citizens Bank Rs 1.44 billion, Prime Bank Rs 1.42 billion, Sanima Bank Rs 1.36 billion, Nepal SBI Bank Rs 1.29 billion and Standard Bank Rs 874 million. Standard Bank’s spending has decreased while others have increased.
