Collaboration with private sector to study green hydrogen production feasibility

Kathmandu. The government is going to study the possibility of producing green hydrogen energy to promote alternative energy production.

Fiscal year 2082 in the federal parliament on Thursday. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel announced that a feasibility study would be carried out in collaboration with the university and the private sector.

Addressing the federal parliament meeting, Finance Minister Poudel said, “The feasibility study of green hydrogen will be carried out in collaboration with universities and the private sector.” ”

The government plans to attract domestic and foreign private investment to produce green hydrogen.

Similarly, if the government integrates solar and air energy into the national system by storing it in batteries, arrangements will be made to sign power purchase agreement (PPA) on par with reservoir-based projects. At present, solar and wind energy are directly connected to nea’s transmission line.

Minister Poudel informed the House that arrangements would be made to sign a power purchase agreement on par with the reservoir-based project if it is stored in the battery and integrated into the national system.
