Cabinet approves seven companies for limestone mining

Kathmandu. The interim government has decided to allow seven companies to operate dozers in the national forest area to extract limestone, the main raw material for the cement industry.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers presided over by Prime Minister Sushila Karki, who also holds the portfolio of Forest and Environment Ministry, has decided to close the agreement on the construction of Riddhi Siddhi Cement Limited, Ba Mines and Minerals Pvt Ltd and Big Plus Minerals Pvt Ltd. Similarly, Baba Mines and Minerals Pvt Ltd has acquired 4.99 hectares of land in the national forest at Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-5. It has been approved to be used for limestone quarrying. The meeting also decided to allow Bhairahawa-based Shakti Minerals Pvt Ltd to use 21.41 hectares of land of national forest at Mathagadhi Rural Municipality-7, Dhanusha for the excavation of limestone.

In addition, K. What. Limes & Industries Pvt. Ltd. Ltd. The government has given permission to use two hectares of land belonging to Rastriya Jan in Chaudandigadhi Municipality-8 of Udayapur district for limestone excavation.
