Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank has urged people to be cautious while conducting digital banking transactions using public WiFi networks.
The central bank has issued a public awareness notice today for financial awareness and made this request. ‘Let’s adopt the necessary precautions for digital banking,’ the Rastra Bank said.
According to the Rastra Bank, using public, free or any other unsecured network for digital banking transactions poses a risk of unauthorized persons gaining access to your banking details. ‘Various hackers and financial criminals may also be connected to such networks. “Who can access and misuse your important financial details,” the notice says. “Therefore, to ensure the security of your personal and banking details, online banking transactions should be carried out only through secure and trusted networks.”
In addition, the National Bank has urged users to change their transaction passwords and PIN codes from time to time using the bank’s official website and application while conducting online banking transactions.
