Kathmandu. The preliminary investigation report of the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad on June 12 has been released.
In a preliminary report released by the Bureau of Investigation, the main reason for the accident has been pointed out to the lack of fuel supply in the aircraft’s engines during the flight.
Shortly after the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner took off from Ahmedabad International Airport, the fuel control switches changed from run to cutoff mode by a second, the report said. Before the crash, the pilot tried to re-turn on the fuel supply switches, but failed, the report said.
According to the report, the fuel supply to the engines was cut off and the aircraft unbalanced and fell on the building near the airport.
Preliminary reports raise serious questions about the activities in the cockpit prior to the plane crash.
A 49-hour flight data and two-hour cockpit audio records were found from the plane’s ‘black box’. This includes the moment of the accident.
At least 260 people, including those on board and at the crash site, were killed in the crash. The flight was scheduled to take off from Hyderabad and land at Gatwick Airport in London at 6.25 pm.
