Kathmandu. Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has urged pilots of its Boeing 787 aircraft to be careful about fuel switches. Special instructions have been given to the pilots for this.

The airline is also investigating how fuel control switches work. This precaution has been taken after the preliminary investigation report of the plane crash in Ahmedabad, India on June 12 came out. The report claimed that both fuel switches of the aircraft were switched off immediately after taking off.

Apart from etihad, the South Korean government is also preparing to take similar steps. South Korea is preparing to order its airlines operating Boeing aircraft to check fuel control switches.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Boeing have said their plane’s fuel control switches, including the 787, are not unsafe, amid orders from Etihad and South Korea to their pilots and an investigation into fuel switches.
