Kathmandu. Dr. Raghuraj Kafle has been appointed to the post of Executive Director of the Health Insurance Board, which has been vacant for 4 months.
Dr. Damodar Basaula’s term as Executive Director had ended on November 25. The government has decided to appoint Kafle to the vacant post of Executive Director.
The recommendation committee formed by the Ministry of Health and Population had recommended the names of Kafle of Byas-5, Tanahun, Kamal Panthi of Ghorahi-15, Dang, and Dr. Krishna Prasad Adhikari of Kathmandu-4, Kathmandu, as Executive Directors. The cabinet meeting decided to appoint Kafle as the executive director of the Insurance Board.
The committee had issued a notice on Magh 24 inviting applications. Based on the applications received by the committee, the work plan of 10 candidates was presented and interviewed at the Public Service Commission on Falgun 19. After that, the names of 3 of them were recommended to the cabinet.
Kafle, who holds a PhD in Economics, was previously a member of the Insurance Suggestions Task Force formed by the Ministry of Health. He served as the executive of the Foreign Employment Board and was also the vice-chairman of the Policy and Planning Commission of Gandaki Province.
