Kathmandu. Kathmandu: Nepal women’s football team defeated Bhutan 6-1 in the under-20 women’s football tournament underway in Bangladesh on Friday.
In the competition held at basundhara kings arena playground, Nepal was one-sided before half-time against a weak opponent. The Nepali women’s team took a three-goal lead. The Nepali team scored three more goals in the match after the interval.
Nepali forward Purnima Rai scored four goals including a hat-trick for Nepal. Senu scored in the 9th and 45th minutes of the match.
Bhutan’s last goal was scored after half-time. After the interval of the match, the Bhutanese team was trying to get back into the rhythm. Bhutan managed to put pressure on the Nepali team after the interval.
