Kathmandu. Kamal Thapa, Bimal Waiba and Dev Chhetri have won the title in different age groups in the second amateur tennis tournament held at Mandikhata Court in Kathmandu. Thapa won the title above 65 years, Waiba over 55 years and Chhetri over 45 years of age.
Similarly, Jeevan Ghimire and Sudarshan Bit won the doubles title while Bhishma Jung Gurung won the title in the 35-plus singles competition.
The tournament was held from April 7 to April 12. The six-day long tournament at Mandikhatar Court has not only exposed the talent of the players but has also emerged as a symbol of the unity of the general community.
The friendly competition seems to have successfully played the collaboration and appreciated the group participants. Local social development analyst Anjila Sharma said, “This competition has played an important role in collaboration and social development. ’
With the excellent environment and significant participation of all age groups, the organizers hope that the third Mandikhatar Amateur Tennis Tournament to be held next year will be even bigger and grander.
