Madathil Mohandas won $ 1 million (about Rs 13.65 crore) in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire Draw. The result of this draw was announced on May 14.

According to Arab media reports, Mohandas, who hails from Kerala in India, bought a lottery ticket from a Terminal 3 arrival shop on April 28. Mohandas, who worked as a manager at Al Jaber Gallery, became a millionaire in one stroke.

Mohandas’s success has been driven by 24 years of sustained efforts. He has been buying duty-free tickets continuously for the last 24 years. After winning the lottery, he said, “Thank you very much Dubai Duty Free. I am very happy with this win. ’

Mohandas is the 250th Indian to win a $1 million prize since the launch of Dubai Duty Free. The largest group of ticket buyers in the draw, which started in 1999, are still Indians.

An 18-year-old Indian girl also emerged victorious in the draw announced on May 14. Tasnim Aslam Sheikh, a resident of Sharjah, won the BMW F900R bike as a prize and bought a lottery ticket on April 22. – Agency
