Kathmandu. Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal (FCAN) President Ravi Singh said, “The fiscal year 2082/2019/20. The budget of 82 is relatively high.
Singh was speaking at a post-budget discussion programme organised by The Association of Economic Journalists of Nepal (NAFIJ) in Kathmandu on Saturday. “However, it should be successful in its implementation,” he said, adding that at least 90 per cent capital expenditure should be made in the next fiscal year. ’
Chairman Singh said that although there has been talk in the past that one sector has been benefited, this time the budget is not such a thing. Some relief has also come up for the construction sector, he said.
Singh said that it was very good that the target of completing the pride projects within two years was very good. “It has now been felt that the Planning Commission and the government have collaborated,” he said, adding that if the suggestions of the construction sector were incorporated, the target would be achieved and the common people would be benefited. ’
Singh, however, said that the budget has not been able to address the sick projects. “Although the sick projects were addressed in the policies and programmes, they could not come in the budget,” he said, adding that the employees should be encouraged to bring the sick projects into operation. ’
Chairman Singh said that it would have a positive impact on the development of projects of less than Rs 30 million. He said the government should think seriously about the amendment in the Public Procurement Act as the projects could not be completed.
