Kathmandu. Sindhuli: The final match of the 2nd President’s Cup Football Tournament held at Khokling Playground of Golanjor Rural Municipality-4 in Sindhuli concluded on Friday in an exciting mode. Ward No. 7 Khurkote Ward No. Nepal won the title by defeating 4 by 3-2 goals in the tri-breaker. Both teams drew 1-1 in regular time and the match reached the tri-breaker.
Khurkot scored three goals in the tie-breaker to take the decisive lead. In this way, they managed to win the title of the tournament. At the end of the tournament, the best performing player, the best goalscorer and the best goalkeeper have also been announced. Anil Majhi of Khurkot team was adjudged the best goalkeeper.
In addition to winning the title, he also won the best player award. Similarly, Ward No. Nirajan Thakuri of Ward No. 4 and Santosh Majhi of Ward No. 7 were adjudged the best goalscorer and best player respectively.
They were awarded a cash prize of Rs 33,000 and a certificate. In the match held this morning, Ward No. 3 secured the third position by defeating Ward No. 2 by a huge margin of seven goals. The winner of the tournament will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 62,500, the runner-up rs 37,500 and the third runner-up Rs 25,000 along with a shield, medal and certificate.
