Visa (NYSE: V), a leader in global digital payments, has partnered with PhonePe, Nepal’s leading payment network, to launch Scan to Pay, enabling international tourists visiting Nepal to make payments through PhonePe’s QR system. The partnership is expected to make cross-border payments in Nepal safer, easier and more convenient for international tourists using Visa cards.
This Scan to Pay feature from Visa and PhonePe will enhance the shopping experience for tourists visiting Nepal, as Visa cards can be used at more than 1.5 million QR. merchants across Nepal. International tourists who have linked their tokenized Visa card to their preferred digital wallet app will be able to easily make payments in Nepal by scanning the PhonePe QR code.
