Violence, looting in Los Angeles, curfew announced

Kathmandu. A curfew has been imposed in Los Angeles, america’s second-largest city, amid violent protests. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced the curfew on Tuesday.

In addition, Mayor Bass urged US President Donald Trump to stop the raid. “I have declared a local emergency and imposed a curfew in the city of Los Angeles to stop vandalism and looting,” Mayor Bass told the media. ’

Mayor Bass said the curfew will be in force from 8 pm on Tuesday to 6 am on Wednesday (local time). “Curfew will be imposed in 1 square mile (2.59 sq km) area of the city. This includes areas where protests have been taking place since Friday. ’

Los Angeles has been witnessing violent protests since the Trump administration expelled immigrants. Taking advantage of this demonstration, some groups have looted.
