Kathmandu. Senior citizens will get up to 80 percent discount on domestic air fare.
A meeting held between the president of the Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN) and representatives of the domestic airlines companies held at the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) headquarters on Monday decided to give a discount of up to 80 per cent to senior citizens. Senior citizens above 80 years of age will be given 80 per cent discount and 70 per cent discount will be given to senior citizens above 75 years of age.
Similarly, senior citizens above 70 years of age will be given 50 per cent discount in the maximum fare fixed by the Government of Nepal in air tickets. Arrangements will be made to ensure a minimum discount of 50% for air passengers of any age group with different capacity.
Likewise, CAAN has directed all the airlines companies to implement the agreement from today itself.
