Kathmandu. Ncell is no longer running unregistered social networks in Nepal.
Ncell, a mobile and internet service provider, said in a statement today that unregistered social networks in Nepal will not run from its internet service. Ncell has clarified that as per the decision of the Council of Ministers, the decision of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and the directives of the Nepal Telecommunication Authority, the social networks not registered in Nepal will no longer run from its data.
A meeting of the Ministry held today decided to ban 26 social media platforms that have not been enlisted. The ministry has already sent a letter to the NRA to implement the decision.
