Kathmandu. Us President Donald Trump has announced new tariffs in seven more countries from August 1.
The new list includes Sri Lanka, Algeria, Iraq, Libya, the Philippines, Moldova and Brunei. All of them will be tariffd from August 1.
Trump has also made public the letter sent to the leaders of these countries. It mentions that these countries have been charged while sending goods to america.
The US will now impose a 30 per cent tariff on goods coming from Sri Lanka, Iraq, Algeria and Libya. Moldova and Brunei will have a 25 percent tax and the Philippines will have a 20 percent tariff.
Trump wrote in his letter that if a country imposes tariffs in the US, the US will also impose tariffs in the same proportion. He said that this decision can also be changed on the basis of relations between the two countries. Earlier, the US had announced tariffs on 14 countries simultaneously. – Agency
