Kathmandu. The government has decided to ban transactions of more than five lakh rupees in cash.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Sunday decided to implement the provision of transactions above five lakh rupees through the banking system.
Earlier, there was a provision to make transactions above Rs 10 lakh through the banking system.
Concluding that money laundering is taking place through cash transactions, the government has decided to implement a new provision to discourage cash transactions.
