Tourism: Hotel fares in Jammu and Kashmir go up by 46%

Meanwhile, the number of tourists visiting Jammu and Kashmir has come down drastically. As a result, hotel fares have dropped significantly. However, airfares have become very expensive.

According to a new report by Saiative Solutions, hotel room rents in Srinagar have fallen by 22 per cent. However, the price of airfares has increased drastically. Airfares have become 46 percent more expensive.

According to the report, after the terrorist attack, there has been a significant increase in local tourism except Kashmir. Citive Solutions has released this report analyzing the price of hotel and air travel in Srinagar.

According to the report, room rents in Srinagar dropped by an average of 22 per cent in the weeks following the attack. Some hotels have reduced prices by up to 46% to attract bookings. That is, if the hotel rent is Rs 20,000, a hotel room can be booked from Rs 10,800 to Rs 15,600.

The fares of flights departing from Srinagar have increased by up to 46 per cent. It has increased even more on some routes. Airfares from Srinagar to Kolkata increased by 213 per cent from Rs 7,666 to Rs 24,000. Meanwhile, fares to Srinagar have come down by up to 53 per cent. Which indicates a decline in tourist arrivals. This means that the fare to Kashmir has come down, but if it comes from Srinagar, the fare has increased drastically.
