Kathmandu. Venezuela has the largest reserves of crude oil in the world. But do you know which country has the world’s largest gas reserves? The answer is Russia.
Russia, the world’s largest country by area, has 47,798 cubic kilometers of gas reserves. Russia has been at war with Ukraine for many years. It also has large reserves of crude oil and Russia has emerged as India’s largest supplier since the Ukraine war.
After the Ukraine war, western countries imposed many sanctions on Russia. After that, Russia started selling crude oil to India and China at a discount. Iran has the largest gas reserves after Russia. The country has 33,980 cubic kilometers of gas reserves. But like Russia, the United States has also banned iran from selling oil and gas. The world’s cheapest petrol is available in Iran.
Iran is followed by Qatar with 23,871 cubic kilometers of gas reserves. Qatar is india’s largest supplier of gas.
Then there is Saudi Arabia. The Gulf country has 15,910 cubic kilometers of gas reserves. The United States, the world’s largest producer of crude oil, has 13,167 cubic kilometers of gas reserves.
In terms of gas reserves, the US is followed by Turkmenistan (11,326 cubic kilometers), China (6,654 cubic kilometers), the UAE (6,088 cubic kilometers), Nigeria (5,748 cubic kilometers), Venezuela (5,663 cubic kilometers), Algeria (4,502 cubic kilometers), Iraq (3,788 cubic kilometers) and Australia (3,228 cubic kilometers). – Agency
