Issuing a press release on Monday evening, Nepal Police Headquarters shared that the compensation amount would be provided to the families of the deceased police personnel by deducting the amount from the salary of the Inspector General of Police to the Inspector General.
The newly formed Council of Ministers had announced a compensation of Rs 15 lakh per family as relief to the families of those who lost their lives during the Gen G movement.
On September 6, 14 protesters were killed when police opened fire on the protesters who had come to attack the Parliament House during a demonstration organized by ‘Gen G’ in New Baneshwor area of Kathmandu on September 7. Later, 7 more people died during treatment.
