Kathmandu. The Ministry of Finance has issued 8-point guidelines for formulating the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2082.83.
The ministry has stated that the guidelines have been issued in accordance with Section 8(1) of the Financial Procedures and Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2076. The Ministry has urged the government to give serious attention to the issues mentioned in the guidelines, as there is a need to prioritize projects and programs, taking into account the pressure on resource management and the need to increase the performance of public expenditure and expand economic activities.
The Ministry has also urged the government to make arrangements to enter the projects and programs of its ministry or subordinate ministries into the Ministry-level Budget Information System (LMBIS) by Chaitra 15, by determining activities to increase the efficiency of expenditure in order to make the budget formulation for the upcoming fiscal year realistic, feasible and result-oriented.
