Kathmandu. The market capitalization of all sectors has increased in the stock market. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has released the data for the eight months of the current fiscal year (July-February).
According to the data, the market capitalization of insurance companies in NEPSE has increased by 24.5 percent in the last one year. The market capitalization of insurance companies has increased from Rs 531.64 billion in the previous fiscal year to Rs 661.63 billion in the current fiscal year.
During this one year, the wealth of business group investors has increased. The market capitalization of this group has increased by 1277.1 percent. It has increased to Rs 230.35 billion at the end of the review period from Rs 16.72 billion in the previous year.
The market capitalization of the finance group has increased from Rs 62.36 billion to Rs 86.36 billion at the end of the review period. In the last one year, the market capitalization of the finance group has increased by 38.5 percent.
Similarly, the market capitalization of hydropower group has increased by 44.4 percent. The total market capitalization of the hydropower group has increased from Rs 483.53 billion to Rs 712.52 billion at the end of the review period.
Similarly, in the last one year, the market capitalization of development bank has increased by 43.8 percent, microfinance group by 29.2 percent, production and processing by 17.7 percent, investment group by 39.9 percent, other group by 38.7 percent and hotel group by 23.5 percent.
The market capitalization of commercial banking group has also increased by 23.1 percent in this one year. The market capitalization of the commercial banking group has increased from Rs 872.97 billion in the previous fiscal year to Rs 1,073.32 billion at the end of the review period.
During the last one year, the total market capitalization of NEPSE has increased by 37.1 percent to Rs 4,543.81 billion. Nepse’s market capitalization stood at Rs 3,314.62 billion as of Mid-March last year.
Commercial bank group has 23.6 percent market capitalization, development bank group 4.7 percent, finance company group 1.9 percent, microfinance group 8.4 percent, insurance company group 14.6 percent, production and processing group 5.4 percent, hotel group 2.6 percent, business group 5.1 percent, investment group 7.6 percent, hydropower group 15.7 percent and other groups 10.4 percent.
