Kathmandu. A shocking crime has come to light from Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu, India. The death of a government employee after being bitten by a snake has been declared a murder. The police investigation has revealed that the deceased’s own sons hatched this sinister conspiracy to get an insurance amount of around Rs 3 crore.
Ganesan, 56, a laboratory assistant in a government school, was bitten by a snake at his home on October 22 and taken to a hospital, police said. He was declared brought dead at the hospital. Initially, it was thought to be a simple snake bite and the police registered a case.
According to Indian media, many facts came to light during the investigation. This raised suspicion among the police. Usually, in case of a snake bite, first aid is provided immediately and the patient is taken to the nearest hospital. However, in this case, instead of taking Ganesan to a nearby health centre, his sons waited for an ambulance for around 45 minutes. The delay raised questions about their motives.
A mistake revealed the mystery
The police became even more suspicious when the sons of the deceased approached the insurance company to inquire about the claim process within 15-20 minutes of the announcement of the hospital’s death. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was then formed under the leadership of DSP Jayashree.
The investigation revealed that Ganesan had a total of 11 policies from various insurance companies. Of these, 4 were life insurance. The total sum insured was about Rs 3 crore. The SIT analysed documents, call details and other evidence. Who revealed the conspiracy to murder.

According to the police, Ganesan’s two sons, Mohanraj and Hariharan, along with their friends, had attempted a similar murder 10 days ago but survived. The second time, the accused used a highly poisonous common crate snake to bite the victim in the neck. The snake was killed inside the house after making the incident look like an accident.
Police have arrested 6 people including two sons in connection with the incident and sent them to jail.
