All the activities of Sebon have come to a standstill after the agitating employees went down. The employees have demanded the resignation of Chairman Santosh Narayan Shrestha and barred him from entering the office.

The SEBON Board of Directors meeting could not take place after the employees continued their strike. On Tuesday, a board meeting of Sebon was held at the Ministry of Finance to discuss the employees’ strike.

According to one of the operators of Sebon, 3 options were mainly discussed in the meeting. “First, there was a discussion on moving ahead by implementing the decision of the Ministry of Finance,” he said, adding, “Secondly, we also discussed taking initiatives to revise the decision of the Ministry of Finance.” ’

According to the directors, if both options are not considered, there has also been discussion about giving the Sebon chairman the authority to go to court to seek legal remedies over the decision of the Ministry of Finance. “Although discussions were held on 3 alternatives, the meeting ended inconclusively,” he said, adding, “We have agreed to hold another meeting within 1-2 days.” ’

Chairman Shrestha also invited the executive directors of SEBON to participate in the meeting held at the Ministry of Finance. However, the directors said that since the board is meeting, the executive directors do not need to sit. After that, the executive directors who had reached the Ministry of Finance returned.
