Sushila Karki-led cabinet meeting takes such decisions for the first time

Kathmandu. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held today under the leadership of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki took various 9 decisions.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers led by Prime Minister Karki also decided to declare those who lost their lives during the Genji movement as martyrs, to observe a national day of mourning on September 1 and to declare a public holiday. The government has also decided to provide Rs 10 lakh compensation to the families of the deceased and Rs 5 lakh as other expenses.

Similarly, the meeting also decided to provide free treatment to the injured, free vehicles to take the dead bodies and to manage helicopters in remote areas and assist in cremation.

The meeting also decided to form a high-level judicial probe commission to investigate into the losses and excesses suffered during the agitation and take action on the basis of its report, to construct a Jenji Jagran Memorial Park in memory of the martyrs and to return the proposals presented in the previous cabinet to the ministries concerned.
