Kathmandu. Meghendra Prakash Giri, head of branding and communication department of Suryajyoti Life, has entered the quarter-finals of the 11th Citizens Bank Tennis Tournament.
In the tournament organized by Kathmandu District Tennis Association and the main sponsorship of Citizens Bank, Meghendra defeated Samdu Lama in the super tie-breaker and secured a place in the last eight quarter-finals. Meghendra won the match with a score of 7-6, 2-6 and 10-7 in the match that lasted for 2 hours and 40 minutes, the longest time of the tournament.
He will take on veterans number one Rohit Sunuwar for a place in the semi-finals. Rohit stunned Prasanta Pant with scores of 6-0 and 6-0 on Tuesday.
