Kathmandu. South Korea has banned the use of mobile phones and other smart devices in school classrooms.
South Korea’s parliament has passed a bill to impose such a ban. At the same time, South Korea has joined the list of banned countries in view of mobile addiction among youth and its impact on studies.
However, most schools in South Korea have already implemented this rule. The ban will come into effect from the start of the new academic year in South Korea in March 2026.
Some countries, such as Finland and France, have imposed limited restrictions and the rules apply to schools that only apply to young children.
On the other hand, countries such as Italy, the Netherlands and China have banned the use of mobile phones in all schools.
