Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank has selected six foreign companies under prequalification to print banknotes.
The National Bank has made public the list of selected foreign companies today. The prequalified companies include China Banknote Printing and Minting Corporation of China, De La Rue International of the UK, Giesecke Divers Currency Technology of Germany, Joint Stock Company ‘Goznak’ of Russia, Oberthur Fiduciaire SAS of France and Policy Security Printing Works of Poland.
The National Bank had invited international bids on January 10 for the design, printing, supply and delivery of Nepali banknotes. The National Bank has prequalified six foreign companies from among those who submitted bids.
Now, the National Bank will award the contract to one of those foreign companies to print banknotes in the coming days.
