Kathmandu. Singapore-based rental platform Rentley has launched a free home insurance scheme for its rental care service users.
Launched on April 4, the scheme covers household items and provides three emergency maintenance services during the per-load period. Each service costs up to $116.71.
This insurance has been built directly on the Rently platform through a partnership with global insurance technology company Discover Market. It provides coverage for household items, renovations and specific incidents such as fires or pipe bursts.
Additional benefits of the scheme include coverage of up to $778.04 for valuables such as jewelry, temporary housing in case of inability to stay at home, and extended device warranty of up to $311.22 under the highest level.
Rentley said the move comes after an increase in rent scams that had reported more than 13,000 cases by 2025. “The plan aims to improve the safety of tenants and address deficiencies in the rental experience. ’
