Kathmandu. The Supreme Court (SC) has issued a show-cause order on a writ petition filed against nepal rastra bank (NRB) governor Maha Prasad Adhikari.
Advocate Nabin Dhital has filed a writ petition seeking an interim order stating that the appointment of Adhikari as a member of the recommendation committee formed for the appointment of governor of Nepal Rastra Bank is illegal. A division bench of Justice Binod Sharma heard the writ petition filed against Adhikari today. Although sharma’s bench did not pass an interim order, both the parties have been summoned for discussion on May 4.
The writ has claimed that the committee was formed while Adhikari was serving as governor and it was illegal to appoint Adhikari as a former governor in the committee.
Along with Adhikari, the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has also been made the defendant in the writ.
