Kathmandu. Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Shikhar Insurance Company jointly organized an awareness and orientation program on Wednesday with the aim of informing industrialists and businessmen of Bhaktapur district about non-life insurance. The awareness and orientation program on non-life insurance was conducted at Hotel Ghyampedanda in Suryabinayak Municipality.
In the program, Roshni Maiya Dhaubanja, president of the association, emphasized the need for industrialists and businessmen to be aware of insurance and said that insurance is indispensable for reducing financial risks in industry and business. She said that everyone should have insurance to protect themselves from risks in industry and business due to natural disasters or any other future.
Shikhar Insurance Company Ltd. Chief Executive Officer Deep Prakash Pandey emphasized that insurance should not be just a formality but a necessity. He said that insurance is a friend in times of trouble and is an essential requirement for reducing insurance risk. He informed that since most people have the mindset that it is difficult to get non-life insurance payments, they are working to convince them that it is not difficult to get insurance claim payments if the process is followed.
In the program, Udit Prasad Kafle, General Manager of Shikhar Insurance, made a presentation on the topic of non-life insurance. He provided information on the procedures to be followed while insuring, types of insurance, areas covered by insurance, situations where insurance claims are met and not met, special policies in property insurance, foreign travel medical insurance, vehicle insurance, etc.
Similarly, Deputy General Manager of Shikhar Insurance, Suraj Rajvakhak, provided information on the history of Shikhar Insurance Company Ltd., the services provided by the company, the amount paid by the company for insurance so far, etc. At the program, Senior Vice President of the association, Krishnamurari Neupane, and General Secretary Navin Prajapati highlighted the importance of insurance. 120 industrialists and businessmen from the district participated in the program.
Meanwhile, an agreement has been signed between the Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Shikhar Insurance Company Ltd. regarding insurance services. The agreement was signed by President Dhaubanja on behalf of the Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chief Executive Officer Pandey on behalf of Shikhar Insurance. The agreement was signed in the presence of Senior Vice President Neupane of the association, General Secretary Prajapati and Deputy General Manager of Shikhar Insurance Company Ltd. Rajvakhak.
