Kathmandu. A one-day financial literacy programme was organized by Swalamban Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Branch Office, Kamalbinayak, Bhaktapur. The program was organized on December 29 to inform the members, guardians and local stakeholders about financial transactions, savings and entrepreneurship.
The program was presided over by Champa Ale Magar, Chief of Centre No. 43 and was attended by members of the Board of Directors of Swalamban Laghubitta, Rabin Kumar Shrestha and Prof. Dr. Kusum Shakya was the special guest on the occasion. Similarly, Bhaktapur Municipality Ward No. Ward member Krishna Narayan Dumaru of Ward No. 10 and Surya Narayan Phoju, principal of Hansabahini Basic School, were also present on the occasion. On the occasion, the best centers under the branch office Kamal Binayak were awarded and insurance facilities were also provided.
Formally initiating the program, Sunita Kafle, Chief of Kamalbinayak Branch Office, welcomed all the attendees and informed about the importance of the program. Rajendra Thapa, Area Manager of Area Office Thimi, shed light on the objectives of the program and talked about the positive changes that financial literacy brings in the financial life of the members.
On the occasion, the principal of Hansawahini Basic School thanked Swalamban Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha for its contribution not only in business purpose but also in social works. Prof. Dr. Shakya stressed on the need of paying attention to the proper utilization of cashless financial transactions and safe transactions.
Promoter Rabin Kumar Shrestha said that entrepreneurship development is the need of the hour and Swalamban Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha will collaborate for the same.
Suman Shrestha, manager of the organization’s central office, Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu, briefed about the introduction of Swavalamban Laghubitta, its facilities and its current status. He also conducted financial literacy classes and trained participants on savings, loan management, family budgeting and financial discipline.
