Securities Board forms committee to study margin transactions

Kathmandu. The Securities Board of Nepal has formed a committee to study the issue of providing margin trading facility through stock brokers.

A four-member study committee has been formed under the coordination of Rupesh KC, chief of the Supervision Division. Niranjay Ghimire from law division, Ambika Giri from regulation division and Anuj Kumar Rimal from broker section are members of the committee.

Securities Board spokesperson Niranjay Ghimire said the committee has been formed to make contemporary amendments in the Working Procedure-2075 BS related to margin transactions. Brokers have not started margin trading as the current procedure is unclear.

The Securities Board is planning to make margin transaction easier by amending the procedure. “The study has started and the procedure will be amended and implemented soon,” he said.
