Kathmandu. After a long wait, India’s leading performance bike manufacturer Royal Enfield has finally officially launched its new bike Classic 650 for sale. Royal Enfield had introduced its new motorcycle Classic 650 to the world at the 2024 EICMA Motor Show held in Milan, Italy last year. Equipped with attractive looks and a powerful engine, this bike has been priced at Rs 3.37 lakh (ex-showroom).
In terms of looks and design, this bike is similar to its sibling model Classic 350. The biggest change is its engine. This bike is powered by a tried and tested 648 cc parallel-twin engine that produces a strong power of 47 hp and a torque of 52.3 Nm. Like other 650cc bikes from Royal Enfield, it has a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch.
Weighing in at 243 kg, the Classic 650 Twin is the heaviest model in the Royal Enfield lineup. With a fuel tank of 14.8 liters, it comes with the largest fuel tank of any Royal Enfield bike except the Super Meteor. Its seat height is 800 mm and the bike has a ground clearance of 154 mm. Which is very good considering all types of road conditions.
Its design may be similar to the Classic 350, but when it comes to the underpinnings, it is similar to the recently launched Shotgun 650. The main frame, brakes, twin shock absorbers and swingarm are all the same on both the bikes. The 19-18 inch wire-spoke wheels and 43 mm telescopic forks are the only changes.
The Classic 650 has almost the same feature set as its smaller 350 cc model. It has a digi-analogue display with a tripper navigation pod and a USB charger is also available. However, the big difference between the two bikes is that the Classic 650 comes with a slip and assist clutch.
The company has used MRF’s powerful nylon high tyres on this bike. However, it also has shotgun-like suspension travel. Which has 120 mm suspension at the front and 90 mm at the rear.
This bike is available in a total of 4 colors. Which include Bruntingthorpe Blue (Rs. 3.37 lakh), Vallam Red –Rs. 3.37 lakh), Teal (Rs. 3.41 lakh) and Black Chrome (Rs. 3.50 lakh). The company has stated that the bookings for the new Classic 650 have already started and its deliveries will start from April. This bike can be booked through the company’s official website and official dealerships.
