Kathmandu. A city-level park is to be constructed at Gondrang of Bharatpur-12. Bharatpur Metropolitan City Mayor Renu Dahal laid the foundation stone of rhino park and open zoo to be constructed at a cost of more than Rs 15 million
She said that the park is being constructed at this place adjacent to the highway as per the policy of one ward, one park of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
According to him, various tourism infrastructures will be constructed and beautified in this park. She expressed the belief that Rhino Park would be a suitable place for tourists visiting Bharatpur for a short time.
The park will be constructed on an area of 8 bighas in belshahr community forest area. Gautam Modern JV will construct the park at a cost of Rs 22.3 million, including value added tax, to be completed by October 2082.
Santosh Archaya, senior divisional engineer of Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality, said the amount would be used to construct wildlife rescue building, pond for crocodiles, snakes, fish, turtles, museums, footpaths, open zoo with fencing and a roundhouse for rest.
On the occasion, Bharatpur Metropolitan City Deputy Mayor Chitrasen Adhikari said the construction of the park would help eco-tourism.
Similarly, Chief Administrative Officer of the Metropolis Laxmi Prasad Poudel expressed the belief that the park would be very attractive if all the structures mentioned in the contract would be constructed.
The programme was presided over by Lekhraj Panta, chairperson of Ward No. 12 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
