Remittances up 10% to Rs 1,191 billion

Kathmandu. Remittance inflow increased by 10.0 percent in the review period. This has been seen in the data of nine months of the fiscal year 2081/82 published by the Rastra Bank today.

During this period, remittance surged 10 per cent to Rs 1,191.31 billion. Remittance inflows had increased by 17.2 percent in the same period of the previous year. Remittance inflows in US dollar terms increased by 7.3 per cent to Rs 8.74 billion.

In the previous year, such inflows had increased by 15.2 percent. During the review period, net second income (net transfer) reached Rs 1301.94 billion. In the same period of the previous year, such income was Rs 1174.54 billion.

During the review period, 3,58,222 Nepalis have taken the final labour permit (institutional and individual-new) for foreign employment and 2,49,652 have taken re-labour permit. In the same period of the previous year, the number was 3,27,842 and 2,11,226 respectively.
